AI chat
Ask questions about your finances, attach context, @-mention exact entities, and run workflows.
Where: /chats, /chats/new — the AI assistant that answers questions about your finances and runs workflows.
Start a chat: Click Start a new chat (sidebar) or go to /chats/new. The empty state offers suggested prompts and Workflows cards (Reconciliation, Ledger Review, Accruals, etc.).
Send a message: Type in the "What can I do for you today?" composer and click the send arrow (or Cmd/Ctrl + Enter). Click the stop icon to halt a streaming response.
Attach files & context
- Click + → Upload files (xlsx, csv, pdf, txt, images, json, xml, sql), or drag-and-drop / paste images. Files appear as chips; click × to remove before sending.
- When a report/document is open, an attached-context chip rides along with your message.
@-Mentions — reference exact entities: Type @ to open the picker, choose a type (Account, Period, KPI, Report, Customer, Vendor, Integration, Batch, Workbook), search, and press Enter to insert a chip (e.g. @account:1930). The AI then knows the exact account/report/period you mean; click a chip to drill into it.
Slash commands: Type / at the start of a line to trigger workflows — see Slash commands.
While it works
- Responses stream word-by-word; a tool chip shows what the AI is doing (e.g. "Reading ledger…").
- An expandable progress panel shows agent steps and reasoning in real time.
- Charts render inline and are interactive; artifacts (workbooks, reconciliations, reports, etc.) appear as cards — click Open to work with them in the side panel.
Extras (from the + menu)
- Web search — toggle on to let a turn search live web results.
- Schedule task — turn the current prompt + @mentions into a recurring agent task (see Finance calendar).
Check the evidence behind an answer: Numbers in a reply carry citations. Click one to open the citation explorer drawer, which shows the supporting evidence for that figure — what was read, from which period, and the analysis window behind it. The drawer distinguishes verified evidence from text-extracted mentions, which are labelled "Text-extracted mentions are not verified evidence." You'll be asked to wait if the message is still streaming.
History: The left sidebar lists past chats (delete via the trash icon, collapse the sidebar for space). Within a chat, click Load older messages to fetch earlier turns. The context-window gauge (bottom-right) shows token usage — start a new chat if it turns red.
