Finance workflows

Every agentic workflow in one place: close, reconcile, period adjustments, analysis, reports, and tax.

Where: /agents — titled Finance Workflows in the app. This is the front door to everything the agents do: each card is a workflow you can start, resume, or review.

How every workflow runs

The same five steps, whichever card you pick:

  1. Start — click the card's primary button (Start reconciliation, Analyze accruals, Open close workspace…).
  2. Scope — a planner opens with the parameters that workflow needs: the period (a month or a custom range), and whatever else applies — invoice statuses to include, a cutoff window in days, whether to reverse automatically next period, a materiality floor, accounts to exclude, free-text notes for the run, and supporting files (PDF, CSV, XLSX, XLS). A How this works panel explains what the run will do.
  3. Build plan — the agent reads your ledger for that scope and proposes a plan.
  4. Review — check the proposal, ask the agent about anything in it, and approve.
  5. Run — the result arrives as an artifact. Anything that writes to your books is staged in the posting queue for approval first.

Instead of running now, you can schedule the same workflow from the planner — see Finance calendar.

Reading a card

  • State badge: Ready, Running, Needs input, Done, or Review. While a run is live the card replaces its description with that run's current signal, so the page doubles as a status board.
  • Primary button: starts a new run — except while work is in flight (Running, Needs input, Review), when it takes you into the existing run instead. Done is terminal: the primary button starts the next period's run.
  • Secondary button (View reconciliations, View adjustments, View saved reports…): opens that workflow's past output in the Artifacts library.

The workflows

Close

  • Period End Close: End-to-End Workflow — step through the full close checklist and lock the period, covering reconciliations, accruals, adjustments, and ERP write-back. Opens the dedicated close workspace, which has no sidebar entry of its own.

Reconcile

  • Reconciliations — match bank, vendor, customer, and document activity to the ledger with tie-out evidence. See Reconciliation.

Review & Post

  • Ledger Review & Posting — review draft entries and ledger actions before they are approved, queued, and posted. Anything approved here lands in the posting queue.

Period Adjustments — the five judgement calls a close needs. Each proposes journal entries with their sources, which you approve or reject line by line before posting.

  • Accruals — identify expenses that should be accrued for the selected period.
  • Prepayments — find booked invoices that need deferred or prepaid expense treatment.
  • Revenue Accruals — recognize revenue earned but not yet billed, from customer invoices and contracts.
  • Depreciation — compute the period charge for each asset in your fixed-asset register.
  • Provisions — estimate a doubtful-debt provision from your receivables aging.

Analyze

  • Financial Analysis — variance, budget, trend, ratio, cash, and statement-level analysis across any period or entity. Opens in chat rather than a planner, because the scope is the question you ask.

Reports & Compliance

  • Generate Management Report — create a management report for the selected period. See Management & board reports.
  • Annual Report — create an annual report draft in the FigureFlow editor. See Annual reports.
  • Tax Analysis — compute and certify corporate income tax: the agent prefills the engagement, pulls your ledger, proposes each adjustment with its evidence and the law, and produces a compliance report you review and sign off. See Tax & compliance.

Coming soonForecasting (project cash flow, revenue, and cost trajectories with what-if scenarios) and Log Invoices (record and post supplier or customer invoices directly).

Availability

Tax Analysis currently covers Nigerian CIT and shows as Coming soon for organizations in other jurisdictions. Cards can also be limited by your plan.

Running the same workflow from chat

Every workflow above is the same agent whichever way you reach it — the card is just the guided way in. If you already know what you want, type a slash command in chat and skip the card:

WorkflowCommand
Period End Close/close month YYYY-MM
Reconciliations/reconcile bank | ap | ar | payouts, then /match for what's left
Ledger Review & Posting, Period Adjustments/ask operational
Financial Analysis/ask analysis
Tax Analysis/tax cit

You still get the same plan-and-review step; you have just skipped the scope form by saying it in words. Workflows without a command — management reports, annual reports — start from their card.
